President Zelenskyy Comments on Rumors of Patriot System Transfer from Israel
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has addressed recent rumors regarding the potential transfer of a Patriot surface-to-air missile system from Israel to Ukraine.
During a closed-door meeting with journalists, Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine has not yet received any Patriot systems from Israel, according to Glavcom.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy explained that Israel did dispatch a Patriot system to the U.S. for refurbishment, but it has not yet reached Ukraine. He noted that although Israel and Ukraine had agreed earlier, the delivery “has not yet arrived in Ukraine.” Zelenskyy emphasized: “If we had it, I would say yes — Israel gave it to us,” but added this remains pending.
Furthermore, Zelenskyy confirmed that before the Hamas attack, discussions were held with Israel’s Prime Minister to explore acquisition of Barak‑8 systems as an alternative. He reaffirmed, “works are underway, but not Patriots yet”.
