As part of the state defense order, Ukrainian Armed Forces received the first six 120mm «BARS-8MMK 4909 120 А» automated mobile mortar complexes from "Ukroboronservice"
The Ukrainian military unit successfully completed the mortar acceptance tests, including the verification of tactical and technical characteristics, as well as firing.
The BARS-8MMK uses the chassis of an armored personnel carrier Bogdan BARS-8 4x4. The system utilises the 120mm Alakran mortar system from Everis Aeroespacial Y Defensa S.L.. It takes only 35 seconds to bring this system in firing condition, and the vehicle is able to leave the firing position in 25 seconds.
Bars-8MMK is integrated into information exchange system on the battlefield, when mobile mortar complex gets the exact coordinates of the enemy in real time. This information can simultaneously come from drones, counterbattery radar, as well as other surveillance systems. This allows the soldiers come out to firing position, open precise fire and leave the position in a matter of minutes.
