Draft law No. 13320, recently registered in the Verkhovna Rada, proposes a monthly bonus ranging from UAH 15,000 to UAH 30,000 for instructors and lecturers at higher military educational institutions.
The authors of the bill seek to correct an imbalance in pay between instructors at the training centers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and those working at military universities, even though both groups perform similar tasks related to personnel training.
“Servicemembers holding instructor-lecturer positions in military training units (centers) currently receive monthly bonuses ranging from UAH 15,000 to UAH 30,000. However, no such payments are provided for similar positions at higher military educational institutions and their structural units — despite the fact that they conduct equivalent training of servicemembers, including cadets, mobilized officers, as well as sergeants and enlisted personnel with higher education,” the explanatory note says.
Although the draft law consists of only half a page of text, it has gathered the support of nearly forty Members of Parliament from various political factions.
