As of May 2025, the 3rd Army Corps is focusing on creating a drone regiment to provide comprehensive aerial support for all its brigades. This initiative aims to enhance the corps' capabilities in both defensive and offensive operations.

Corps Commander Colonel Andriy Biletsky emphasized the importance of building unit cohesion through shared training experiences. He announced plans to establish a large-scale training unit at the corps level, through which all brigades will rotate.

"I want to retrain all soldiers," Biletsky stated. "A soldier should understand how to survive and accomplish missions—not just be a 'man with a gun' as in the Russian army, but a relatively professional fighter in the Ukrainian army."

He acknowledged that the training might need to be conducted in stages, allowing for intervals between combat deployments. Despite the challenges, Biletsky believes that time can always be allocated for soldier preparation.

A critical focus is the development of the non-commissioned officer (NCO) corps, particularly squad and platoon sergeants. As an example, Biletsky cited the training of 500 sergeants from the 3rd Assault Brigade over the past year through comprehensive courses.
