State-owned company "Ukrspetsexport" has started the process of transferring to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine 37 infantry fighting vehicles BMP-1 for the needs of the Ukrainian Army.
The Ukroboronprom reported that the fighting vehicles were delivered to Ukraine last week, ahead of the state contract deadline. Since April 2, technical inspection of the party has started. Deliveries under contract occur within the framework of a state defense order.
These Czech-made BMP-1 (a licensed copy of the Soviet vehicle, which was produced in Czechoslovakia between 1970 and 1989) have never been in operation and have been in storage all the time. Before delivery to Ukraine fighting vehicles underwent major repairs.
