The 3rd Separate Assault Brigade—the strike force of the III Army Corps—has received a batch of Patria armored personnel carriers, provided by Latvia as part of its military assistance to Ukraine.
The official handover ceremony took place during the working visit of Latvian Prime Minister Evika Siliņa to Ukraine. In Kyiv, she met with Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Major Valeriy Churkin, and the commander of the III Army Corps of the Ukrainian Ground Forces, Colonel Andriy Biletskyi, as reported by the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense.

Colonel Andriy Biletskyi announced that these new armored combat vehicles will be delivered to one of the most effective assault units of the III Corps.

Prime Minister Evika Siliņa noted that this is the first batch of armored vehicles announced during her meeting with the President of Ukraine. She emphasized Latvia’s unwavering support for Ukraine and assured that Latvia will continue to champion Ukraine’s cause among world leaders.

It is worth recalling that on July 1, 2025, the Cabinet of Ministers of Latvia approved the transfer of 42 Patria 6x6 armored personnel carriers and other military equipment to the Armed Forces of Ukraine to support Ukraine’s fight against unprovoked Russian aggression.
