In the presence of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who is on an official visit to the United Kingdom, Minister of Defenсe of Ukraine Andrii Taran and Secretary of State for Defence of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Ben Wallace signed a Memorandum on enhancing cooperation between Ukraine and the United Kingdom in the military and military-technical spheres.
In particular, the Memorandum provides for cooperation in the defense sector.
According to Andrii Taran, the document deals with the supply of modern military equipment and the latest high-precision weapons, the establishment of production of certain types of military products in Ukraine, as well as the construction of facilities of the Ukrainian Navy.
An important aspect is the attraction of funding from the UK's export credit agency in the amount of 1.25 billion pounds.
This should significantly increase the efficiency and reduce the time of implementation of joint projects in the defense sector, which is critical in the context of aggravation of the situation in the Black Sea region.
