Ihor Fomenko, Deputy General Director for Production at Ukroboronprom State Concern, said that during the meeting of the Association of Aviation Enterprises of Ukraine (Ukraviaprom), which took place on December 9 in Kyiv.
Victor Popov, the President of the Association, noted the significant role of the State Concern's enterprises in the development of national aviation industry.
He added that a contract between Antonov and the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine for the construction of three An-178 aircraft, as well as the Law No. 1630-IX "On the peculiarities of reforming the enterprises of the military-industrial complex of the state form of ownership" entering into its force, became the most significant among all recent key events in aviation sphere.

«The state order for construction of three AN-178 for Ukraine’s Armed Forces, which our Antonov is currently working on, is the first state aviation order since Ukraine's independence. These aircraft will become a great example of import substitution: the test aircraft has been redesigned excluding all Russian components or units, — Ihor Fomenko said. — In September 2021, Ukraine’s Cabinet of Ministers approved the State Targeted Scientific and Technical Program for the Development of the Aviation Industry for 2021-2030. And this program has all chances to implemented in the best way, as Ukroboronprom’s aviation enterprises have strong production, technological and scientific base and highly qualified specialists.»
