Ukrainian-Romanian defense cooperation was discussed in the MOD

On September 26, the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Andrii Zahorodniuk held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Romania to Ukraine Cristian-Leon Țurcanu.

Andrii Zahorodniuk informed foreign guests about further reforming directions of the Ministry Defense of Ukraine and further development of the capabilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Minister stressed the importance of defense cooperation between the countries and thanked his Romanian colleagues for support of the territorial integrity and independence of Ukraine.

During the meeting, the parties also discussed the current security situation, focusing on the necessity for further cooperation to maintain stability in the region.

One of the important topics during the discussion was bilateral military cooperation, in particular, the issue of the functioning of the multinational engineering battalion Tysa and bilateral cooperation between the Armed Forces of Ukraine and Romania. The possibility of expanding of the defense cooperation was also emphasized.
