Ukrainian Special Operations Forces received their own aviation

35th Mixed Aviation Squadron (or Special Operations Aviation Squadron), designed for operational air support of the Special Operations Forces of Ukraine, established in Vinnytsia region.

The 35th Aviation Squadron is subordinate to the 456th Transport Aviation Brigade of the Ukrainian Air Force and is operationally subordinate to the Special Operations Forces Command. The squadron's structures meet NATO standards.

At 80% of the squadron consists of personal of the 456th Brigade , also it includes a staff, which is completed with special forces.

By the end of 2020, squadrons will be equipped with Mi-2, Mi-8 helicopters and An-26 aircraft. After 2020, the 35th Squadron will also have Mi-24 combat helicopters. In the future, the squadron may receive more modern helicopters.
