Farsight Vision, a Ukrainian-Estonian defense technology startup, has developed an AI-driven platform that converts drone imagery into detailed 3D terrain models. This innovation enables military units to conduct reconnaissance and plan operations effectively, even in environments where GPS signals are compromised.
The platform comprises two main components:
- FSV Mapper: A hardware device that preprocesses media files captured by drones.
- FSV Platform: A web-based application that stitches the processed data into comprehensive 3D maps, creating digital twins of the terrain.
These tools allow for rapid generation of orthophoto maps with 5–7 cm/pixel accuracy in under an hour, automatic detection of terrain changes and objects, and seamless integration with existing combat systems such as DELTA, Kropyva, Combat Vision, MilChat, and TacticMap.
In September 2024, Farsight Vision secured €600,000 in funding from the Darkstar coalition, led by Estonian entrepreneur Ragnar Sass. The investment aims to scale the startup's R&D efforts, expand its team, and support international collaborations.
Farsight Vision's technology has already proven effective on the battlefield, significantly reducing the time required for data processing from days to minutes and increasing the success rate of missions.
