President Petro Poroshenko congratulated the participants of the Ukraine-USA command-and-control training with the involvement of the Sea Breeze troops on the 20th anniversary that will be marked in 2017.
The Head of State noted: “Since 1997, this training has provided a substantial assistance in the revival of the military-naval potential of the state and the achievement of compatibility with the NATO fleet, which is a precondition for our membership in this alliance — when the country meets the criteria and the results of our reforms are implemented in every sphere”.

The Head of State emphasizes that the given training enhances mutual compatibility and coherence of multinational units year-by-year in conditions as close to combat as possible. “Each year it is an improvement of functioning of the multinational tactical group in the planning of actions under the NATO standards. This year, Ukraine’s participation in the planning has been substantially increased. This joint training is our response to ideologists, organizers and sponsors of hybrid wars,” Petro Poroshenko said.
The President stressed that the joint training demonstrated unity and willingness to protect peace and values of the Transatlantic community — democracy, freedom, the rule of law, human rights, territorial integrity and inviolability of borders.
“The assistance from our foreign partners in military and military-technical sphere is crucially important in present conditions. I would like to thank you, dear friends, for a systemic facilitation in the training of the Ukrainian warriors and sharing your combat experience gained in various corners of the world,” the President said.
The Head of State is confident that the training will become another resolute step towards achieving stability in the region.
“We, Ukrainians, have faced the Kremlin’s threat to peace in Europe and the whole world. The threat from the country, which Ronald Reagan called evil empire,” Petro Poroshenko said.
