In 2019 it is planned to complete a number of priority areas in the development of modern weapons that have already been developed according to NATO standards.

The National Security and Defense Council discussed the state defense order for 2019 during the meeting. According to President Petro Poroshenko, next year Ukraine will complete the creation of missile weapons and begin its mass production.

"We are completing the creation of a number of modern weapons that have already been developed according to NATO standards, such as “Bogdan” self-propelled howitzers and 155 mm artillery ammunition, controlled “Kvitnyk” munitions, a two-caliber mortar, an unmanned reconnaissance shock complex “Sokil”, portable anti-aircraft missile complex "Colibri", intelligence means, very important complexes of artillery control," Petro Poroshenko said.

"First of all, it relates to rockets created under the project "Vilkha" with an increased range of damage. It is about the beginning of their serial production and delivery to the troops, to the Armed Forces," the Head of State noted.

In 2019, it is also planned to complete the development and launch of trials of a ground-based cruise missile complex aimed to defeat the coastal targets under the “Neptune” project.

For the Land Forces, it is planned to purchase six thousand pieces of weapons, including mortars, portable anti-aircraft weapon systems, sniper weapons and anti-sniper complexes, ammunition, night vision sights, thermal imagers, grenade launchers, artillery shots, missiles, etc. It is planned to purchase more than a thousand armored personnel carriers, infantry combat vehicles, armored vehicles, sanitary cars, etc.

According to Petro Poroshenko, the Air Forces will receive dozens of upgraded planes, helicopters and unmanned aerial systems. The fleet will receive a missile boat "Lan", small armored artillery boats, landing boats, radar complexes and radar facilities that are very much needed. In addition, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will receive ten thousand units of modern means of communication, dozens of samples of electronic warfare, topographical equipment.
