Almost a hundred new trucks Bogdan-6317 were sent July 11 to units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from the Central Automobile Base Storage and Repair, located in Khmelnytsky.
Bogdan-6317 is a Ukrainian modification of the Belarusian truck MAZ-6317, which is localized by 50%. It is equipped with a high-capacity 9.7L V6 Weichai Power turbocharged diesel engine developing 380 hp. These engines made it possible for Ukrainian manufacturers to improve the vehicles’ performance as well as to refuse from Russian-produced components. Also, trucks are equipped with Fast Gear gearbox from China and Turkish Hummer Kupplungen coupling.
The new truck makes up to 85 km/h carrying 11 tons of cargo. It is capable of transporting 50 persons. Besides, the vehicle is designed to tow trailers on all categories of roads, including hard-top and dirt roads as well as in off-road conditions.
Bogdan-6317 is gradually replacing the Ural-375, Ural-4320, ZiL-131 trucks and military versions of KAMAZ vehicles, designed yet in 1960-70ies. Each vehicle has a 10-year producer’s warranty
Truck production is organized at the Automobile Plant of Bogdan Corporation. It should be reminded that last year the Armed Forces of Ukraine received more than 200 Bogdan trucks under the state defense order.
Also, at the beginning of the year, Ukrainian Military Pages reported that Bogdan Motors has signed a new contract with MOD of Ukraine on supplying the Armed Forces with Bogdan-6317 trucks.
