At the final stage of the Combined Resolved X international military exercises at the 7th Army Training Command’s JMRC, our troops got the task of preparing the defense of the tightly populated Ubensdorf city.
The forces of Ukrainians consisted of an airborne-assault company reinforced by a tank. BLUEFOR attacked by a battalion-tactical group with the support of helicopters and artillery. It took only a few hours of fierce battle to take the city. As a result of the attack, BLUEFOR has lost three and a half companies out of five available.
- We are trying here, at the 7th Army Training Command’s JMRC, to recreate the reality of the battle and show how much the battle can be difficult. I think that the soldiers who trained here today have understood how difficult it is to fight in the urban. And Ukrainian soldiers, who played the role of opposite forces, did a lot of work and really restored all the difficulties of such a battle, said Lieutenant Colonel Ryan Wally, senior instructor at the joint multinational training center.
