Zorya-Mashproekt and India's BHEL sign agreement on localization of ship engines

Індія локалізує виробництво українських корабельних турбін

Manufacturing of some separate components of marine gas turbine engines produced by State Enterprise “Gas Turbine Research & Production Complex “Zorya”-“Mashproekt”, shall be partially localized in India.

This is stated in the agreement, signed by Ukroboronprom and Indian state company Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL).

According to Oleksiy Zhukovets, General Director of Zorya-Mashproekt, signing this agreement will provide competitive edge of the products of the State Concern, expanding opportunities for new projects.

"We currently have the reason to speak of using our equipment for ships of the Indian Navy in the long run," the head of the company said.

Partial localization shall take place under a license agreement with BHEL, which includes payment of the corresponding royalty in favor of the Zorya-Mashproekt State Enterprise, which is a part of Ukroboronprom State Concern.

As it was reported earlier, under the terms of the Indian state development program "Make in India", while taking the decision to cooperate with foreign partners, preference is given to those companies whose production is at least partially localized in India.
