France is transitioning to a new self-adhesive camouflage system known as CAMTAC for its ground combat vehicles.
After many years of research and experimentation, the CAMTAC system, designed for land forces vehicles, is ready for full-scale implementation. A tender has been announced for the production and supply of this camouflage system based on adhesive geometric shapes.

These geometric shapes — specifically sets of equilateral triangles in various colors — are arranged on a brown base background optimized for each vehicle type. The adhesive design of CAMTAC allows for quick removal and replacement, depending on operational conditions. Three versions have been developed: one for winter environments, another for desert conditions, and the most widely used one for European plains.

The procurement process, overseen by France’s Directorate General of Armaments, is expected to result in a seven-year framework agreement. While specific demand details remain undisclosed, the expected volume and delivery schedule include 52,000 kits of 100 stickers each, to be delivered starting in late 2026.
