Brigadier General Oleh Apostol replaces Ihor Skybyuk as commander of the Air Assault Forces
On June 3, 2025, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy appointed Brigadier General Oleh Apostol as the new Commander of Ukraine’s Air Assault Forces (AAF).
He replaces Major General Ihor Skybyuk, who has been assigned as Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The official appointments were made by presidential decrees No. 382/2025 and No. 385/2025, published on the official website of the President of Ukraine.
