Army corps replace temporary command units on the frontline
One of the newly established corps of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is taking over the area of responsibility previously held by the Vuhledar Tactical Group. This was announced by Lieutenant General Serhii Naiev, who had been in command of the group.
“Based on the directive from the General Staff, I have concluded my tenure as commander of the Vuhledar Tactical Group. Together with the officers of our command unit, we are withdrawing from one of the hottest sectors in Donetsk region. From now on, operations in this area will be carried out by one of the newly formed army corps of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” Naiev reported.
“In summary, I would like to first express my gratitude to the reliable and dedicated supporters who, during our four-month rotation, provided invaluable assistance in addressing every challenge faced by the attached brigades. Thanks to your support, we were able to respond swiftly to threats and enhance the combat readiness of our units. During my tenure, the Vuhledar Tactical Group successfully eliminated: 19,608 enemy personnel (including 9,692 killed and 9,916 wounded), 74 tanks, 138 armored fighting vehicles, 316 artillery systems, and neutralized 1,296 units of automotive equipment.”
The general emphasized that the group maintained critical sections of the front through cohesion, professionalism, and determination, thwarted enemy plans, and took initiative in seemingly impossible situations.
“Despite the enemy’s numerical superiority in manpower and equipment, we managed to improve our tactical position five times, lure the enemy into ambushes seven times, and destroy their equipment. Most importantly, we prevented any breakthrough toward Dnipropetrovsk region. At the same time, my top priority has always been the lives and health of our soldiers and sergeants. I am convinced that victory should be achieved not through human-wave assaults but through wisdom, accurate calculations, ingenuity, and efficient use of every piece of equipment. Together, we will win!”
