The Security Service established that SpetsTechnoExport, without real need, entered into a contract with a foreign company to supply the Suspension System for Early Detection for the Border Guard.
Employees of the Counterintelligence Department of the Security Service of Ukraine exposed officials of the State Enterprise SpetsTechnoExport on large-scale embezzlement, resulting in harm to the state budget amounting to about USD 6.8 million, SBU Press Centre reported.
At present in the framework of initiated criminal proceeding in the offices of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, the State Border Guard Service, the State Fiscal Service and the State Enterprise “SpetsTechnoExport” the investigations are ongoing.
The SBU does not specifically name the station and manufacturer, but it is known that in 2016 such a system was purchased from the American company Aeroscraft and installed in Mariupol.
